Climate justice motion passed!

On August 30th, Burnaby City Council voted unanimously in favour of my motion to ensure that any climate work that's carried out by the City of Burnaby incorporates an equity and reconciliation lens, and is nature-based wherever possible.

The best solutions to the climate crisis are ones grounded in equity, that mitigate climate change, and that help us adapt to the warming that's already locked in — all at once.

I submitted this motion on my first Council meeting, and it passed during my second. This is formal policy work I’ve been working on, but I’m also working on many smaller initiatives to improve our city.
